This battle, among others, was one of the signals of the end of the Reich. The Germans ended up having to withdraw thanks to heavy losses and the new offensive against Sicily. Those unfamiliar should know that Kursk was the biggest armor battle in World War II with somewhere around six thousand tanks and two million men engaged between the Russians and Germans. Not as hard to balance, but just as important to the face of the world today, was the battle of Kursk, which is the second turning point battle offered up with the expansion. The issue is that the Zulu outnumbered British forces by incredible numbers towards the beginning and towards the end had been mercilessly chewed up by rifles as the British, miraculously, tipped completely over to the side of the Brits. Roarke's Drift, as it's called, has apparently been a pretty tricky set of battles to balance. The first of these showcases the last of the new civilizations, the Zulu, as they fight with the wily British over control of Africa. As with Empire Earth II, the expansion will also offer a couple of turning point battles to test the mettle of desktop commanders. Some of those lovely corporation are moving in on the Maasai territory to steal a valuable new resource.

This one, rather than sitting back in time, will move forward a couple of decades into the future where Africa is picking itself up and moving ahead in the world to join the ranks of the cutthroat corporate world. The last of the campaigns focuses on the Maasai, one of the new African civilizations. Included in the campaign will be a nifty crocodile battering ram that apparently isn't really historically accurate, but looks scary when it's battering down a gate, which is mighty fine with us. One such campaign will focus on ancient Egypt and feature ancient civilizations fighting over the region. The other two campaigns bring the war into African (it's a small continent off the coast of Europe) to bring the focus onto the area from which two of the new civilizations hail.
