The TK-760HG is a 50w radio the TK-760G is a 25w radio. Programming is accomplished via Kenwood's KPG-56D software, or CHIRP. Great for a ham on a budget or for somebody who needs a second VHF radio, and doesn't mind the lack of a VFO or FPP (see the following post). for ham use plus logging road freqs, SAR, etc. Since they're a commercial radio, they can be programmed outside of the ham band with no hardware mods needed ie. They handle FM and NFM, have 128 channels, 8-character alphanumeric channel names, CTCSS and DCS, and can be set up with multiple groups (banks). I recently picked up a Kenwood TK-760HG commercial VHF mobile (high-power version of the TK-760G) just to play around with.
